In 1945, Captain Buck Taylor arrives at Balfour Mill village on the train at Balfour Depot. On the same train are the body of Reynold's Day, the once hope of Balfour Mill 's baseball team, the Spinners, and Ty Washington, a black soldier, an unsung hero of WW2, Buck's friend.
